THE ADVENTURE BEGINS...

Wellspring Family! Welcome to a New Year, A New Decade and a New Season in the life of our church!

We live in challenging times. Many have abandoned their faith, others are tired, discouraged or distracted. Christians and "the Church" are often viewed with suspicion or disdain. Society is shifting and anger, division and hatred swirl around us.

But God is the God of the new. His mercies are new every morning! He is doing a new thing among us! He is inviting us into a fresh start, a new beginning!

Jesus has welcomed us to an exciting journey of discipleship. It is an adventure that is both breathtaking and rigorous. He requires our very best, our all. In return he gives us the Holy Spirit, abundant life, joy unspeakable, lasting peace and hope!  He equips us for the great mission of proclaiming "Good News" to a broken world. Wellspring has answered His call: Together we are committing to a radical level of discipleship!

We are stepping out by faith to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength. We are prioritizing the things of the Kingdom. We are submitting our Church, our lives and our families to His Lordship!

Welcome to the adventure!

Love in Christ,

Pastors Jerry, Dawn & Josiah

A LITTLE MORE IN DEPTH

Specifically in 2020 Wellspring as a Church is committing to:

  • Building our lives on the Rock, Christ Jesus!
  • FAST and PRAYER every Wednesday and Friday.
  • READ through the Bible and MEMORIZE key verses.
  • Exercise our SPIRITUAL GIFTS to love and serve one another.
  • Live in FEARLESS GENEROSITY as we give sacrificially.
  • SHARE OUR FAITH through invitation, incarnational ministry and investing in missions.
  • Live in UNITY with one another without judgement or gossip and diligently guard our relationships.

PRAYER & FASTING.

We each are committing to fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays every week during the year 2020.  While the goal is to fast until the evening meal on these days, we know that with certain medical conditions or etc this is just not a possibility for everyone so please choose something to fast on those days (maybe your Starbucks or maybe desserts) and replace with a time of prayer. Historically, Christians have done this for centuries. The early Christians practiced this Wednesday/Friday fast as well as the first Wesleyans (then Methodists) routinely denied their bodies on these specific days of the week in order to seek the face of God intentionally.  We are committing to fast until the evening meal on these days and instead commit our time to praying for the needs of our families, friends, Church, community and world at large. Praying specifically for lost people in our lives and documenting answers to our prayers so we can see how God is moving amongst us!

SPIRITUAL GIFTS AND SERVING.

Unlike other kinds of gifts, a spiritual gift is God-given. Through these gifts, God gives His people the ability to excel in particular areas of ministry in order to serve others and further His kingdom. Curious to know what your spiritual gifts are? Take the test below and connect with one of our pastors on how best to use your gifts to serve others in the Church and our community.

FEARLESS GENEROSITY.

To impact our community and shoulder our financial commitments we need to be a people of generosity in giving. We have plans to impact our community with outreach programs and events for children, a Market Church and continuing our support of organizations such as New Hope Ministries.  As a Church, we are committing our finances; committing to tithe routinely each week and to attack our building fund and reduce our mortgage so we are better positioned to help our community. We hope that you will join in accomplishing our goals.

READ & MEMORIZE SCRIPTURE, TOGETHER.

HERE AT WELLSPRING WE ARE COMMITTED TO READING THROUGH THE ENTIRE BIBLE IN THE YEAR 2020 TOGETHER AND STUDY THE READINGS IN SERMONS AND SMALL GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

UNITY IN THE CHURCH BODY

As a Church body, we are committing to speaking positively about people, ministries, leadership and the mission of Wellspring; to patience, forgiveness and non-judgemental positioning towards others; to following Biblical principles of reconciliation in all circumstances where we feel hurt or division.
